The goal is to curate a new set of digital mobile apps for members, featuring a fresh brand that reflects an innovative approach to wellness.

Why Expat wellness?

Why Expat wellness?

Moving to a new country brings a host of challenges, regardless of the reason. Cultural differences, adaptation, language barriers, and the absence of a social network can be overwhelming, even for the most enthusiastic expats. Having personally faced these struggles, my partner and I developed the Expat Wellness app to offer support and guidance to others navigating this life-changing journey.

Problem Statement

Problem Statement

Newly arrived expats need to find a way to overcome the adaptation period in a new country: learn the local language, understand the cultural differences, and create their own social network of locals and expats. The challenging, long adaptation makes them feel rejected, different, and lost, which creates confusion, and even leads to depression.

Solution

Expat Wellness is a mobile health application designed specifically for expats who experience challenges in their well-being and mental health during the adjustment period in a new country. The app connects users with dedicated well-being mentors, who provide personalized support through goal setting, emotional wellness guidance, and facilitating social connections. Our aim is to help expats navigate their new environment, build resilience, and foster a sense of community.

To kick off our project, we conducted market research with the following key findings:

  • There was a significant market gap, as no direct competitors offer comprehensive support for expats. Existing platforms like Pivt, Internations, and I’mcovery focus mainly on social connections, neglecting the broader needs of diverse expat groups.

  • Our vision is to create a platform that provides personalized support for all expats, not just specific groups. We aim to combine social networking with tailored guidance, offering tools to help expats establish a support system, form meaningful connections, and adapt quickly to their new country.
